At VSP, we are always looking for ways to help others maintain healthy sight and participate in positive preventative behaviors. We recently partnered with the Sacramento Kings and Kings broadcast personalities, Jerry Reynolds and Grant Napear to create a series of fun and quirky VSP Vision Tip videos. For these next few weeks, we are focusing (get it?) on helping those affected by Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), also known as digital eyestrain.
CVS is defined as any number of eye or vision-related problems that can occur from computer use. Symptoms include blurry vision, difficulty focusing, dry and irritated eyes, headaches, and even neck and back pain.
One of the easiest ways to combat this in both adults and children is to watch the time! The “20/20/20 Rule” is a good reminder. Every 20 minutes, stop and look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
Submit your own version of the 20/20/20 rule video and win!
Jerry does a good job of reminding Grant about the 20/20/20 rule while they are working, but we want you to get creative and submit your own version of the video showing how you would (or do) educate others you encounter during your daily routine about using the 20/20/20 rule.
Do you have co-workers in your office that are complaining of dry eyes while working at their computers? Do you have children who are rubbing their eyes constantly while watching videos? Do you see a fellow student studying at the library that is struggling to keep their eyes focused on their laptop? Is there a stranger you notice squinting to read their smartphone?
Show us how you are helping to spread the word, and CVS relief
Get your creative juices flowing then just upload your video to our Facebook page between now and Friday, February 24th then encourage your friends and family to “like it”! The video with the most “likes” will win their choice of a Samsung Galaxy Tablet or a Kings Experience at a Sacramento Kings game AND will have a chance for their video played during an upcoming Kings game!
We look forward to seeing your creativity and Good Luck!
