More than 600 million people around the globe are blind or vision impaired because they do not have access to eyecare. So in recognition of Optometry Giving Sight and World Sight Day 2013, VSP Vision Care and its World Sight Day Challenge Coalition partners have ascended onto the Atlanta Metropolitan State College campus in Atlanta, GA for our largest mobile eyecare clinic event in history. For five days, from Wednesday, October 9 through Sunday, October 13, local VSP eye doctors will provide free eyecare and eyewear to underserved Atlanta residents onboard the VSP Vision Care mobile eyecare clinics. Our goal is to provide eyecare to more than 2,000 Atlanta residents in need.
To help us raise awareness around World Sight Day we have partnered with Nike Vision athlete, volleyball legend and three-time Olympic Gold medalist Misty May-Treanor to share why taking care of your eyes is important.
