VSP Celebrates World Sight Day with eyecare for 4,000 Atlanta Residents

By on

In our previous World Sight Day post, we shared that VSP and the World Sight Day Challenge Coalition went to the Atlanta Metropolitan State College to host our largest community outreach event in history. Together, we provided access to eyecare and eyewear for 4,000 Atlanta residents in need through VSP Mobile Eyes®.

On World Sight Day, a check for $570,000 was presented on behalf of the World Sight Day Challenge Coalition to Optometry Giving Sight in support of their efforts to prevent visual impairment and blindness around the globe.  Additionally, we were joined by Nike Vision athlete and three-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor to raise awareness and share how access to vision care has made an impact in her life.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the local optometrists and organizations who supported our onsite efforts from October 9 to October 13:

I am with the Pismo Beach Cities Lions Club, in Pismo Beach, CA. How do we obtain certificates for eyecare for some of the needy in our area?
