Eyes of Hope Game Provides the Gift of Sight at Home and Abroad

By on

For the third year, VSP teamed up with the Sacramento Kings for the Eyes of Hope game, to provide eye care to more than 1,000 people in need, both locally and abroad.

Kings fans attending the basketball game on Monday, March 3, donated their gently used eyewear and showed their support on Instagram. Each donated pair of glasses will be cleaned and sorted by prescription for use on mission trips that provide eye care globally through our Eye Make a Difference program.

In addition, each donation was matched by VSP Vision Care to provide gift certificates for free eye exams and new glasses to local Sacramento students who qualify.

Thanks to everyone who donated glasses and entered the Instagram promotion. We’re excited that 637 pairs of glasses will be donated to the Lions Club in Mumbai, India, and 639 Sacramento-area students will receive a VSP Vision Care gift certificate for a free eye exam and glasses.
