The full UNITY digital lenses experience explained by three very different bloggers

By on

In November we introduced three UNITY bloggers who were in the process of trying out three different lens experiences and documenting how it went from the exam room fitting to a month after their new glasses arrived.  Each blogger brought a different perspective to their upgrade to digital lenses. See what they had to say about their UNITY digital lenses below:

St Louis, MO, baker and photographer, Cheryl from TidyMom, opted for progressive digital lenses to treat her astigmatism and aging eyes. Cheryl had never worn progressive lenses before so armed with her new black square frames, she mastered the art of seeing near far and in between. After a short adjustment period she reported that baking is a whole new world and the light transition coating she also ordered makes taking photos outside even easier.

Alpha Mom blogger Mir had a completely different UNITY experience when she went to her local optometrist’s office in Athens, GA, excited to try digital lenses in her prescription sunglasses.  Mir has a heavy prescription and has worn heavy corrective lenses for years. When she raced to her eye doctor’s office to pick up her new sunglasses, she was immediately stricken by how lightweight the lenses felt. After driving around in her new lenses, she also noticed the larger field of vision. She reported that her first few weeks of driving in her new sunglasses were a rediscovery of the roads she drives every day.

Colleen from Shibley Smiles could not wait to try her new pair of single vision digital lenses. The self-proclaimed technology junkie hadn’t had an eye exam in years so she went to her local Wellington, FL optometrist for a fitting with the goal of upgrading to digital lenses and a new prescription before the New Year. Colleen was glad she kept her promise when budget season came around and she was back at the computer for 10 hours a day and long drives home at night became an everyday occurrence. The headaches she had grown accustomed to subside and even her coworkers noticed her newfound efficiency.

If you are looking to make a change and upgrade your old lens technology to digital lenses in the New Year, look no further than the VSP blog and Facebook page for a firsthand account of the entire process from soup to nuts.  If you have a question for any of the bloggers on their UNITY experience, post it in the comments section and check back for the answers in the New Year!
